Thank you for sharing

I thought it was about time I went on record to thank each and every one of you who has got in touch and shared your experiences with me in the last few weeks.

Since the release of my book I have been really touched by the responses I have had from people giving their feedback. From public reviews to personal messages, I am so grateful to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to share their thoughts with me. And I’ve been truly humbled that people have shared their own stories with me.

One thing that has surprised me has been the way God has used our experiences to touch people whose lives have been very different to ours. I’ve always known that our story – or more accurately God working through our story – had the power to speak not just to people who had been through miscarriage. Still, though, it amazed me to hear from people sharing their stories of how He has done just that. And it surprised me to hear some of the circumstances that God had used our story to work in – circumstances I hadn’t even considered.

I’ve been honoured and privileged to hear of people’s experiences of pregnancy loss, as well as everything from parents who have had no difficulties having children, to single people who have not had the opportunity to even consider parenthood, let alone strive for it. Every single experience and journey is precious, like the person it belongs to, and I am truly touched that so many of you have invited me in to share in yours in even the tiniest way.

Life is full of experiences and it is those experiences that grow us into the people we are destined to be. It is also those things that enable us t

o care for and empathise with others going through their own experiences. I am so glad that I followed God’s leading to share some of my experiences in For the Love of Lentil, and I am even more glad to have received the feedback I have from so many people, each demonstrating to

me that God is at work in and through me.

I hope each one of you understands how much you have blessed me by sharing your stories, and I hope to hear from more of you as time goes on.

Mark chapter 5, verse 19 recounts Jesus saying, “…Go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” May we never stop sharing with others about the wonderful things the Lord had done for us.

Sarah Moore is the author of For the Love of Lentil, A journey of longing, loss and abundant grace, which tells the story of her experience of pregnancy and miscarriage. Copies of the book are available here.
