Welcome to the news we’ve been longing to bring you
As we write this latest blog post we’re excited to share news we’ve been longing to bring you. Since we said goodbye to our little Lentil, we’ve been praying that we would in time be blessed with his little brother or sister. And that time has come. Baby Moore is expected in September.

For weeks we’ve been excitedly and nervously counting down the early weeks of our second pregnancy, our relief and hope growing as we passed each milestone of the first – the eight weeks at which Lentil stopped growing, the 10-and-a-half weeks at which we found out – and growing still as we passed the 12-week point after which the statistical chance of a successful pregnancy increases.
We’re not naive. We know that, sadly, things can still go wrong after 12 weeks, but we are filled with faith that God will bring our beautiful rainbow baby safely into the world and into our arms.
Having only seen Lentil as a tiny, lifeless form on his only scan, to have seen our little rainbow’s tiny heartbeat on the early scans we were able to have for reassurance was a blessing. And to see the amazing detail on the dating scan – the tiny lower leg bones, the shape of the brain, the tiny fingers and toes – was an amazing reminder of the wonder of creation and the miracle that is every human life.
We are so grateful for all the prayers that have been offered up on our behalf around the country in the last 16 months, and we continue to pray that God will protect our tiny child as we count down to our estimated due date.
As we look forward to what we hope will be our celebratory event, we’re conscious that not every baby loss experience comes with a happy ending. We’re very aware that, for some, there is no rainbow baby on the horizon, and that some expected rainbow babies sadly have their time cut short like the siblings who have gone before them. And our prayers remain with all those affected by baby loss, whatever their experiences.
And, as we look forward to the prospect of welcoming our little child, of celebrating our first Christmas as parents, and to all that we hope life will bring – even cool Auntie Kim giving her niece or nephew their first drum kit, which we think is a promise rather than a threat – we continue to thank God for the blessing He has given us, for keeping our lemon-sized baby safe so far and for the hope we have that He will continue to do so. And we look forward to the day we can fulfil our promise to dedicate our much-loved child back to Him.
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127, verse 3.
