A big bouncing bundle of news just in…

Just a short post for today as there are other things – more specifically one thing – occupying our time.

Baby Charlotte Rebecca made her arrival into the world on Wednesday, our beautiful, bouncing 6lb 11oz bundle of answered prayer.

We still can’t quite believe she’s ours and there’s nothing like just watching her. Even in my sleep-deprived (and slightly battle-worn) state, I count it a blessing to get to sit with her sleeping in my arms all night (although, if she would get the memo about sleeping in the crib so Mummy can sleep too it would be a big help).

God has blessed us with this child and given us every moment to savour – even the ones when we’re trying to stop her waking the neighbours, or she’s using her strong reflexes to put her heels in her dirty nappy despite our best efforts to keep them out of the way.

To me she epitomises one Bible verse that has stayed with me in recent years – Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

We thank God for entrusting us with this precious child and we look forward to seeing what He has in store for her life.

Thank you, once again, for all your prayers and good wishes in recent months. And please feel free to keep us in your prayers in the weeks and months ahead – for strength and energy to provide all that Charlotte needs amid all the busyness and tiredness, and for wisdom to know how best to meet those needs, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
